We do not buy personal data from data brokers.
4. How We Use Your Data
We use personal data to:
1. create, authenticate, and manage your account;
2. provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Platform;
3. deliver self-guided tools, routines, educational content, and Platform features;
4. support messaging, scheduling, family profiles, logs, and optional expert-support features;
5. process purchases, subscriptions, renewals, refunds, and billing events;
6. send transactional messages, service notices, security alerts, and support communications;
7. personalize your experience, where appropriate and permitted by law;
8. protect the Platform, detect fraud, investigate misuse, and enforce our Terms;
9. comply with legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, and compliance obligations; and
10. generate analytics, aggregated insights, service improvements, and internal research, using de-identification, anonymization, or minimization where appropriate.
We do not use sensitive or health-related information to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects without human involvement where prohibited by law.
5. Legal Bases for Processing
This section applies where a lawful basis is required under applicable law, including the GDPR and UK GDPR.
Depending on the context, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract, where processing is necessary to create and manage your account, provide the Platform, process payments, or deliver features you request;
- Consent, where required for certain categories of processing, including certain uses of sensitive or health-related information, marketing communications, optional features, or non-essential cookies;
- Legitimate interests, where processing is necessary for security, fraud prevention, service improvement, product analytics, customer support, business administration, or protecting our legal rights, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms;
- Legal obligation, where processing is required to comply with law, regulation, court orders, tax rules, or governmental requests; and
- Vital interests, where applicable and permitted by law.
Where consent is required by law, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that already took place lawfully before withdrawal.
6. Sensitive and Health-Related Information
The Platform may process information that is considered sensitive, special-category, or health-related under applicable law, if you choose to provide it. This may include, for example:
- family profile information;
- information about routines, challenges, behavior, needs, or goals;
- notes, logs, observations, messages, uploaded documents, and questionnaires;
- session-related information; and
- information you share in connection with optional expert-support features.
Guided Days is a digital platform and does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or emergency services. However, because some information shared through the Platform may still qualify as sensitive or health-related personal data under applicable law, we apply additional care to its processing.
Where required by applicable law, we rely on your explicit consent or another valid legal basis or special-category condition to process such information.
You are not required to provide sensitive or health-related information unless it is necessary for a feature you choose to use, but some Platform features may not work properly without it.
7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary: to operate the Platform, maintain sessions, remember security settings, and enable core functionality;
- Functional: to remember preferences such as language, interface settings, and other user choices;
- Analytics: to understand how users interact with the Platform and improve performance and usability;
- Marketing, if used, only where permitted by law and with consent where required.
Where required by law, we will request your consent before using non-essential cookies or similar technologies. You may manage your preferences through available cookie settings or your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect Platform functionality.
8. How We Share Your Data
We share personal data only where appropriate and permitted by law.
8.1 Service Providers and Processors
We use third-party vendors and service providers to support the Platform, such as hosting, cloud storage, payment processing, communications, analytics, authentication, customer support, and security tools. These providers process personal data on our behalf under contractual restrictions where required.
8.2 Independent Providers and Specialists
If you use optional expert-support features, we may share relevant account, profile, scheduling, message, and session-related information with the independent provider or specialist involved in that feature, as necessary to provide the requested functionality.
8.3 Legal Compliance and Protection
We may disclose information where required by law or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, protect our rights, investigate misuse, prevent fraud, or protect users or the public.
8.4 Business Transfers
If Guided Days is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, asset sale, or similar transaction, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
8.5 With Your Direction or Consent
We may share data with other parties when you direct us to do so or where you consent.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
9. International Data Transfers
Because we operate globally and use service providers in multiple countries, personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence.
Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, which may include:
- standard contractual clauses or equivalent transfer mechanisms;
- adequacy decisions;
- supplementary contractual, organizational, or technical measures; or
- other lawful transfer tools available under applicable law.
You may contact us for more information about applicable transfer mechanisms.
10. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide the Platform, maintain accounts, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the Platform.
Retention periods may vary based on the type of data and the purpose for which it is processed. For example:
- account and profile data may be retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward;
- billing and transaction records may be retained as required for tax, accounting, and legal compliance;
- support and operational records may be retained for service, audit, and security purposes;
- de-identified or aggregated data may be retained longer where it no longer reasonably identifies you.
When personal data is no longer needed, we will delete, anonymize, or securely retain it only as required by law.
11. Security
We use technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure.
These measures may include:
- encryption in transit;
- access controls and least-privilege access;
- authentication and account security protections;
- monitoring, logging, and incident response processes;
- vendor due diligence; and
- internal confidentiality and security practices.
No system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong password, protect your credentials, and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
12. Children's Privacy
The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children in their own capacity as Platform users.
However, because the Platform may allow parents and caregivers to enter information relating to children or other dependents in family profiles, logs, questionnaires, or other features, we treat such information as sensitive where appropriate and process it only in connection with the services requested by the adult user.
If you believe we have collected personal data directly from a child in a manner not permitted by applicable law, please contact us.
13. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction and subject to applicable limitations, you may have rights such as:
- the right to access personal data we hold about you;
- the right to correct inaccurate data;
- the right to delete data in certain circumstances;
- the right to restrict or object to certain processing;
- the right to data portability;
- the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- the right to request review of certain automated decisions where applicable; and
- the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority or regulator.
To exercise your rights, contact us at [info@guideddays.com](mailto:info@guideddays.com). We may need to verify your identity before responding.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights available under applicable law.
14. Supplemental Notice for California Residents
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, access, delete, correct, and limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, subject to exceptions.
Guided Days does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for third-party cross-context behavioral advertising as described in California law.
California residents may exercise applicable rights by contacting us at [info@guideddays.com](mailto:info@guideddays.com). We may need to verify your identity before responding.
15. Supplemental Notice for Brazilian Residents
If the LGPD applies to you, you may have rights including confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization, blocking, deletion, portability, information about sharing, information about consent, revocation of consent, and review of certain automated decisions, subject to applicable limitations.
For LGPD purposes, Guided Days acts as the controlador for personal data processed through the Platform.
16. Supplemental Notice for Israeli Residents
If Israeli privacy law applies to you, Guided Days acts as the database owner and holder responsible for applicable databases maintained through the Platform, subject to law.
Sensitive information is processed only as permitted by law and, where required, with explicit consent.
Israeli residents may contact us to request access, correction, or other rights available under applicable law.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or the Platform.
When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and provide additional notice where required by law. Where applicable law requires fresh consent for a new processing purpose, we will request it.
